Associate Director / Director – Medical Planning

About the role

SAA is seeking an experienced leader to drive medical planning and design across a variety of healthcare facilities. You will shape strategic master plans, functional layouts, and ensure that all solutions meet clinical, regulatory, and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the medical planning process for preventative, outpatient, acute, and post‑acute facilities.
• Develop strategic and master‑planning solutions based on clinical workflows, patient journeys, and best‑practice evidence‑based design.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, administrators, and other clinical staff to align design outcomes with user needs.
• Oversee project delivery from concept through construction documentation, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with codes.
• Facilitate client and stakeholder meetings, present planning concepts, and drive consensus on design direction.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including meeting minutes, reports, and QA/QC checklists.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading medical planning or healthcare design projects.
• Strong understanding of clinical workflows, patient journey mapping, and evidence‑based design principles.
• Ability to translate regulatory and operational requirements into functional architectural solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for client and multidisciplinary team engagement.
