Software Engineer – Payments

About the role

Stripe is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Payments team, the core product that processes trillions of dollars each year. You will help expand Stripe’s global payments network, design new capabilities, and ensure the platform remains reliable and high‑performing.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems used across Stripe’s engineering organization.
• Own end‑to‑end problem solving across a wide range of technologies and processes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams in Stripe’s global offices to deliver consistent, high‑quality code.
• Uphold and improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.

Required profile

• 3–12+ years of professional software development experience.
• Degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent experience.
• Experience working on projects involving multiple engineering teams.
• Strong communication, empathy, and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to learn quickly and drive clear next steps when challenges arise.
