Business Intelligence Analyst (AI & Data Analytics)

About the role

We are looking for a forward‑thinking Junior Business Intelligence Analyst to help drive our AI transformation. You will work with the cross‑border business team to blend traditional analytics with next‑generation intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and growth opportunities for Shopee’s cross‑border business.
• Support senior leads in launching AI initiatives that improve productivity and enable predictive business modelling.
• Design and operate internal AI agents to automate repetitive data tasks and streamline workflows.
• Upgrade standard BI dashboards into intelligent dashboards with predictive features and automated insight summaries.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to provide data support for AI‑assisted simulation models and decision‑support tools.
• Maintain data integrity and optimise processes to ensure accurate, timely KPI reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or a related quantitative field.
• At least 1 year of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Data Engineering; e‑commerce or social‑media experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to use AI to boost personal or team productivity.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment and delivering practical, AI‑augmented solutions.

Required skills

• SQL
• Python (data manipulation and automation)
• BI tools: Tableau, Power BI, Google Looker Studio
• Fundamental machine‑learning concepts (regression, clustering, forecasting)
• Experience with agent‑building tools or frameworks
• Familiarity with large language models (e.g., OpenAI API, Claude) and prompt engineering for data analysis
