Frontend Software Engineer – Global Payments

About the role

ByteDance’s Global Payment team is looking for a Frontend Software Engineer to help build consumer digital wallets and payment products that serve a worldwide ecosystem. You will work on web‑based solutions that power both mobile and PC experiences, ensuring smooth, secure, and high‑performance transactions for users of TikTok and other platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop global consumer digital wallets and related payment products.
• Build cross‑platform web applications for consumer users, supporting both mobile and desktop.
• Collaborate with product design, product management, and engineering teams to deliver secure and efficient solutions.
• Research emerging web technologies and evaluate new frameworks to continuously improve the product.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience developing frontend web applications in a large‑scale internet environment.
• Experience with e‑wallet or payment product development is a strong plus.
• Self‑motivated, agile learner with a sense of product ownership and problem‑solving mindset.
• Effective collaborator comfortable in a fast‑paced, global team.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Hands‑on experience with React, Vue, or Angular.
• Familiarity with modern bundling and compilation tools such as Webpack, Rollup, Babel, and AST manipulation.
• Ability to build high‑performance, highly available web applications with excellent user experience.
