Procurement Assistant

About the role

The Procurement Assistant supports daily purchasing operations for construction projects, ensuring timely delivery of materials and effective coordination with suppliers, engineers, and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, issue, and track purchase orders, managing delivery and shipment schedules.
• Coordinate procurement activities with suppliers, engineers, supervisors, and project stakeholders.
• Source and purchase materials locally and overseas, preparing material catalogues for project submission.
• Negotiate terms, evaluate vendor quotations, and ensure compliance with technical and commercial specifications.
• Resolve supply, quality, service, and invoicing issues; assist with ISO performance reviews.
• Evaluate supplier performance on quality, delivery, and price; manage contracts and renegotiate when needed.
• Identify alternative sources, implement internal procurement strategies for high‑delivery and short lead‑time requirements.
• Handle office administration and ISO matters; perform ad‑hoc duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience in the building construction industry.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Independent, reliable, proactive and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
