Facilities Gas & Chemical Engineer (Senior)

About the role

We are seeking a Facilities Gas & Chemical Engineer (Senior) to join the Facilities (Gas & Chemical) Department of SSMC, a joint venture between NXP and TSMC. The role focuses on ensuring reliable gas and chemical distribution utilities for our semiconductor fab.

Key responsibilities

• Provide facilities support for gas and chemical distribution systems to maintain continuous supply at required performance levels.
• Develop, implement and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programmes for assigned systems.
• Perform repair, troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis to restore systems quickly and prevent recurrence.
• Create and maintain reporting and tracking systems for performance and capacity monitoring.
• Recommend and execute improvement or enhancement projects.
• Monitor utility consumption and collaborate with users on reduction initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, legislation and codes of practice.
• Provide guidance and training to colleagues on system operation and backup.
• Maintain accurate plant histories, drawings, data and documentation.
• Evaluate and procure appropriate spares, consumables and resources.
• Supervise related projects.

Required profile

• Master’s or degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 2‑5 years of experience in semiconductor, pharmaceutical or petrochemical industries.
• Hands‑on experience with day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of gas or chemical distribution systems.
• Ability to lead improvement projects.
• Team player with strong responsibility and a positive learning attitude.
