Head of Critical Equipment Maintenance

About the role

The Head of Critical Equipment Maintenance will lead a key workshop and asset maintenance function for a major public‑transport operator in Singapore. Reporting to senior leadership, you will ensure that critical operational equipment meets reliability, availability and performance targets.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance, repair, overhaul, servicing and testing of critical assets.
• Manage workshop operations, technical governance and safety management.
• Develop maintenance capability, workforce competency and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Plan resources, prepare budgets and monitor performance against targets.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, regulators, suppliers and external stakeholders to sustain asset performance and operational continuity.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or related discipline.
• 8‑10 years of experience in railway, heavy‑industry or asset‑intensive engineering maintenance.
• Proven technical leadership, operational management and safety governance.
• Experience in workforce development, stakeholder engagement and performance management.
• Chartered Engineer status or membership of a recognised professional institution is advantageous.
