About the role

SingaporeAcademic – German Secondary is seeking motivated secondary school teachers for the 2026/2027 academic year. The school, part of the German European School Singapore (GESS) community, offers a modern campus and a multicultural environment where instruction is delivered in German.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver curriculum in Biology, English, German or a combination, using effective, up‑to‑date teaching methods.
• Plan lessons to maximise student learning and achievement.
• Maintain a positive, caring classroom atmosphere.
• Communicate regularly and constructively with parents.
• Participate in team meetings, working groups and school trips, including overnight stays when required.
• Contribute to whole‑school development and cross‑departmental projects.
• Represent the school professionally in external communications.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of teaching experience.
• Recognised teaching qualification (1st and 2nd Staatsexamen or equivalent).
• Knowledge of the German secondary school curriculum.
• Fluent written and spoken German and English.
• Humorous, resilient personality with a passion for educating young learners.
• Willingness to work in an international school setting.

Required skills

• Good computer literacy and experience using new media in the classroom.
