Steel Production Manager – Shipyard

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Steel Production Manager to lead steel fabrication, sub‑assembly and block construction activities in a busy shipyard environment. The role focuses on driving production efficiency, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and delivering projects on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all steel fabrication, sub‑assembly and block construction operations to meet project delivery targets.
• Develop, monitor and adjust production schedules in line with project milestones.
• Implement improvement initiatives to boost efficiency, productivity and resource utilization.
• Ensure all work complies with classification society requirements, project specifications and quality standards.
• Promote a strong safety culture and collaborate with HSE teams to meet safety regulations.
• Lead, mentor and manage steel supervisors, production staff and subcontractor teams.
• Coordinate with engineering, planning, procurement, QA/QC and project teams to ensure smooth execution.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 8‑10 years of experience in shipbuilding, shipyard operations or steel construction management.
• Proven ability to manage large production teams and subcontractors.
• Willingness to be based full‑time in Batam, Indonesia.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD (preferred).
