DevOps & Application Engineer

About the role

The DevOps & Application Engineer will design, automate, and optimise StarHub’s cloud‑native platforms. You will own the build‑and‑release ecosystem, manage multi‑cluster Kubernetes environments and contribute production‑grade code across several languages.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce DevOps policies, champion trunk‑based development and automated quality gates.
• Design, develop and maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines using Pipeline‑as‑Code (shared libraries, scripted & declarative).
• Write and maintain build scripts and infrastructure tooling in Shell, Python and Groovy.
• Administer multi‑cluster Kubernetes (EKS & OpenShift), develop Helm charts, configure RBAC, network policies and autoscaling.
• Implement GitOps workflows with Argo CD or Flux for reproducible deployments.
• Provision and manage AWS resources (EKS, RDS/PostgreSQL, EC2, S3, IAM) and codify infrastructure with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Contribute application code in Python, Go or TypeScript, participate in design reviews and performance profiling.
• Establish observability using Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch and manage incident response via PagerDuty.
• Author technical documentation and support the internal developer portal (Backstage).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (Master’s a plus).
• 4+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE or Software Engineering.
• Strong understanding of Linux internals, networking fundamentals and shell scripting.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams with excellent communication skills.
