Engineering Support Technician

About the role

BeeX is seeking an Engineering Support Technician to join its marine robotics team. You will work closely with engineering leads and the Operations Manager to ensure safe and efficient sea trials of advanced Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (HAUVs).

Key responsibilities

• Assist during sea trials, supporting the engineering team and ensuring operational safety.
• Perform all pre‑deployment checks and logistical preparations for each trial or field session.
• Carry out scheduled and ad‑hoc maintenance on HAUVs to maintain reliability and safety standards.
• Operate and pilot the vehicle as required during testing, transport, or demonstration activities.
• Support engineers with data collection, equipment setup, and execution of test protocols in the field.
• Record observations, maintenance logs, and trial outcomes accurately for engineering review.

Required profile

• Willingness to work in unfamiliar technical domains and contribute beyond a single area of expertise.
• Proactive learner who seeks to understand new systems, tools, and methodologies with minimal hand‑holding.
• Rigorous adherence to procedures and early issue reporting, especially in marine or high‑stakes environments.
• Clear communication with engineers and ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities during field operations.
• Calm and effective performance in dynamic offshore or variable‑weather conditions.
• A diploma or degree in a relevant discipline; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
