Area Construction Quality Manager

About the role

SBM Offshore is seeking an Area Construction Quality Manager to lead quality management processes for designated construction areas on offshore projects. You will work closely with the Project Construction Quality Manager to ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards are met while delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the project quality plan and inspection & test strategies for the assigned area.
• Supervise quality control activities across construction sites, ensuring compliance with codes, specifications, and approved procedures.
• Coordinate third‑party inspection services, quality audits, and non‑conformance management.
• Act as the focal point for quality‑related issues with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Identify quality risks, contribute to constructability reviews, and recommend mitigation actions.
• Support contractor and supplier qualification, ensuring traceability and conformity of critical materials and welding/fabrication activities.
• Report quality performance, trends, and KPIs to the Project Management Team and contribute to lessons learned.
• Promote a culture of quality throughout the construction organization.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or related discipline) or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 + years of experience in quality management on FPSO or offshore oil & gas construction projects.
• Proficiency in additional languages is beneficial for international projects.
