Head of Finance – Business Unit Finance Director

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Finance to act as a strategic partner to the Business Unit Leader. In this senior position you will own the financial health of the unit, drive forecasting, compliance and reporting, and influence key business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the quarterly forecasting cycle, delivering insights within a 5% variance tolerance.
• Produce clear performance analysis and commentary for senior leadership.
• Identify financial risks and operational improvement opportunities and oversee execution.
• Collaborate across functions to ensure commercial contracts comply with group policy.
• Manage internal legal coordination and liaise with Group Legal as required.
• Oversee core finance operations including procure‑to‑pay, order‑to‑cash, treasury and month‑end close.
• Ensure regulatory, tax and statutory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Support internal and external audits, driving improvements in controls and systems.
• Lead, develop and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of growth and succession planning.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (SCAQ, CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Strong IFRS knowledge, especially IFRS 15/ASC 606.
• Hands‑on approach with exceptional Excel proficiency.
• Experience with NetSuite, SAP BPC or Blackline.
• Excellent communicator and strategic thinker.
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced, multi‑entity, multi‑currency environment, preferably within software or telecommunications.
