Internal Audit Officer – Beijing

About the role

The Internal Audit Officer will join the Internal Audit Office of AIIB in Beijing, supporting the bank’s mission to finance sustainable infrastructure. Reporting to the Principal Internal Audit Officer, the role involves developing and executing a risk‑based audit plan that aligns with AIIB’s risk management framework.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, lead or co‑lead risk‑based internal audit and advisory engagements in line with the IAO audit plan and professional standards.
• Perform risk assessments, define audit scope and develop audit programs using process knowledge and data.
• Produce clear, evidence‑based deliverables such as reports, presentations and dashboards.
• Partner with auditees and stakeholders throughout engagements, aligning expectations and supporting timely remediation.
• Design and execute audit analytics (population testing, anomaly detection, trend analysis) and apply AI‑enabled techniques where appropriate.
• Oversee fieldwork, maintain sufficient audit evidence, identify root causes and recommend practical improvements.
• Track follow‑up on recommendations and validate implementation effectiveness.
• Mentor junior audit staff and contribute to audit methodology and tooling enhancements.

Required profile

• Professional judgment and ability to lead or co‑lead audit assignments.
• Experience in risk‑based internal audit or advisory engagements.
• Strong analytical mindset with capability to identify control gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Ability to communicate findings constructively to senior stakeholders.
• Willingness to mentor and coach junior audit staff.
