Trading Operator

About the role

We are expanding our Singapore hub and are looking for a Trading Operator to support front‑office activities on a leading asset‑backed commodities trading platform. The role bridges the gap between traders, chartering teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution of oil and energy trades.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end trade execution, from contract finalisation through cargo delivery and settlement.
• Review and negotiate commercial terms, contracts and trade documentation.
• Coordinate with traders, chartering teams and counterparties on voyage planning and cargo movements.
• Monitor and optimise operational performance and deal P&L.
• Oversee post‑fixture activities, including vessel operations and demurrage claims.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, regulations and internal controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Act as a key liaison across internal stakeholders and external partners.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in oil or commodities trading operations.
• Strong understanding of physical trade flows, shipping logistics and documentation.
• Familiarity with trade finance concepts and settlement processes.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to link operations to profitability.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to operate in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
