Analyst / Associate, Sustainable Finance – Deal Origination

About the role

MUFG is seeking an Analyst or Associate for its Sustainable Finance Department within the Asian Investment Banking Division, based in Singapore. The role works with strategic clients and industry champions to develop tailored financing proposals and support deal execution, with a focus on sustainable finance across APAC, especially South-East Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Develop client-centric marketing materials, pitch decks and customised financing proposals for clients across APAC
• Support deal execution by assisting with frameworks, Second Party Opinions, facility documentation and transaction processes
• Keep clients and internal teams informed on sustainable finance trends and regulatory changes
• Propose ways to strengthen engagement with industry partnerships
• Prioritise clients strategically, focusing on strategic clients, hard-to-abate sectors and industry champions
• Maintain pipeline and closed-deal updates, provide business reporting dashboards with KPI tracking and create presentations for senior management
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments on regional initiatives and articulate sustainability risk considerations for financing projects

Required profile

• Proven experience in investment banking or corporate finance with a focus on sustainability
• Analyser: minimum 2 years' experience preferred; Associate: minimum 3 years' experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in any discipline
• Proficiency in English; additional business languages are highly valued

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of ICMA bond principles, APLMA loan principles, Climate Bonds Initiative standards, TCFD guidelines and other sustainability regulations
• Data extraction, maintenance and analysis, and advanced Excel for financial modelling
• Advanced PowerPoint skills for executive presentations
• Project management and strong communication and interpersonal skills
