Assistant/Production Manager, Current Affairs

About the role

We are looking for an organised and proactive Assistant/Production Manager to support our Current Affairs team. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth production workflows, from procurement to post‑production, while collaborating closely with internal and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all procurement services and ensure timely payments.
• Prepare production budgets and track costs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Liaise with fixers, freelance cameramen and crew on administrative matters, including vendor creation, service agreements, invoicing and payment.
• Identify, source and cast suitable contributors and talents for documentary and programme segments.
• Develop look books and oversee styling direction for hosts and talents, coordinating fittings and wardrobe.
• Book key personnel, studios, equipment and external vendors/services.
• Provide post‑production support such as footage wrangling, ingestion, logging and transcription.
• Collaborate with editorial, production, post‑production, legal and finance teams to ensure clear communication and alignment.
• Drive continuous improvement of production processes and workflows.

Required profile

• Diploma holder with good spoken and written English.
• Proven experience managing budgets, schedules and deliveries for factual or high‑end documentary productions.
• Strong communicator able to work effectively across multiple departments.
• Team‑player comfortable coordinating with producers, assistant producers and the wider production team.

Required skills

• Familiarity with AI‑assisted tools.
• Working knowledge of production and post‑production tools.
