AVP, Application Developer - Institutional Banking Group Technology

About the role

The AVP Application Developer role in the Institutional Banking Group Technology (IBGT) group technology team ensures that technical solutions are successfully implemented by bridging the gap between business needs and technology. It leads the end-to-end systems development lifecycle, from planning and scoping through analysis and technical implementation, delivering high-quality solutions on time and within budget, and manages the performance of technology suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Work with business users, technical teams, vendors and ecosystem partners to design, develop, test and implement solutions such as Trade Finance initiatives and ecosystem developments.
• Turn identified opportunities into solutions that drive business value, validate requirements and drive process improvement and standardization.
• Inspect work products of users, vendors, service providers and technical teams, and communicate the value of technology solutions to stakeholders.
• Manage production support and incident resolution with IT suppliers and conduct vendor negotiations.
• Design and implement efficient code packaging and CI/CD pipelines, and build automated tools for packaging, versioning, artifact management and deployment.
• Assimilate, validate and prioritize business requirements, then analyse, design, define, develop, test and deliver technical solutions.
• Drive continuous process improvement and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners.

Required profile

• Hands-on experience with IT tools and platforms relevant to corporate banking, especially Trade Finance.
• Understanding of corporate banking operations and integration with external partners.
• Proven project management experience, SDLC processes and testing methodologies.
• Proficiency in writing Business Requirement Documents and Functional Specifications.
• Strong teamwork, communication and presentation skills, analytical thinking and attention to detail.
