Commis Chef – Main Kitchen

About the role

The Main Kitchen is seeking a motivated Commis Chef to support food preparation and cooking operations in a fast‑paced, high‑standard environment. You will work closely with the culinary team to ensure dishes are prepared to recipe specifications, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring and mixing.
• Cook and assemble dishes according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely and efficiently.
• Monitor food temperatures, test doneness and ensure food safety throughout preparation.
• Set up and break down work stations, maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
• Serve food in proper portions and ensure proper storage of leftovers.
• Follow all company safety, security and hygiene policies, reporting any incidents or maintenance needs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related kitchen or food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift and carry objects up to 25 lb without assistance.
• Commitment to uniform appearance, confidentiality and professional conduct.
