Communications Designer – Social, Digital & Publication

About the role

Oculus Design is seeking a versatile Communications Designer to create visual communication across publications, social media, digital content and campaigns. The role blends traditional publication design with emerging digital and AI‑assisted creative work, supporting clients from the public sector and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Develop visual concepts for annual reports, publications, social posts, carousels, reels and campaign assets.
• Translate communication objectives and audience insights into clear, engaging designs.
• Manage projects from brief through final delivery, working independently and collaboratively.
• Explore and apply AI tools such as ChatGPT and Adobe Firefly to enhance creative workflows.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in a creative agency, design studio or similar environment.
• Strong portfolio that includes government sector work and demonstrates range across digital/social and traditional design.
• Excellent eye for typography, layout and detail.
• Ability to manage projects independently while collaborating effectively.
• Curious, adaptable and eager to learn new technologies.

• Creation of TikTok and short‑form video content.
• Basic photography and videography.
• Premiere Pro.
• After Effects.
• CapCut.
• Motion graphics.
• AI tools such as ChatGPT and Adobe Firefly.
