Demi Chef – In‑Room Dining

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Demi Chef to join the In‑Room Dining team at Marriott International in Singapore. The role focuses on preparing high‑quality meals for guests, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the overall culinary operation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, substitute items, and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters; pull items from freezer storage and thaw them safely.
• Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, garnish, and maintain accurate food logs.
• Monitor food quality and quantity, communicate assistance needs during busy periods, and inform the Chef of excess items for daily specials.
• Notify Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out‑of‑stock items.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, and motivating team members.
• Follow all company safety, security, and hygiene policies; report maintenance issues, accidents, and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Provide attentive service to guests, communicate clearly, and foster positive working relationships.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant culinary experience.
• Technical, trade, or vocational school education in culinary arts or related field.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.
