Design Manager (Traction Power Systems)

About the role

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Design Manager to lead engineering and design activities for rail electrification projects. You will be responsible for delivering design packages, coordinating with clients and external consultants, and ensuring successful execution of traction power systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design deliverables for electrification projects, including client clarification meetings and vendor coordination.
• Design and execute electrical packages for MV and DC switchgear, trackside equipment, power converters, transformers, auxiliary systems, CMS, SCADA and ETS.
• Drive automation, network control and cyber‑security topics with internal experts.
• Perform traction power simulation studies using Sidytrac, PSS SINCAL and other industrial tools.
• Develop conceptual engineering solutions and implement value‑addition engineering across projects.
• Provide system engineering support for tenders, technical evaluations and bid packages.
• Manage system interfaces, configuration management and design change requests with subcontractors.
• Collaborate with project, testing & commissioning and contractor teams to ensure smooth handover and round‑the‑clock support when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in MRT electrification projects.
• Strong knowledge of AC and DC electrification, control and protection systems, and PLC interfaces.
• Hands‑on experience with medium to high‑complexity solution projects.
• Familiarity with local transportation operators' standards and regulations.
