Director, Business Development

About the role

Carry1st is expanding its payment technology beyond gaming into high‑growth consumer digital and direct‑to‑consumer verticals. As Director of Business Development you will own the full deal cycle, from pipeline creation to closing, driving new market entry across Africa and the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end deal process, building pipeline, opening senior relationships, negotiating and closing contracts that unlock new global markets.
• Translate the industry‑expansion strategy into a prioritized target‑account and outreach plan for high‑volume consumer‑facing enterprises.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision‑makers such as VPs of Product, Heads of Strategy, and Commercial Executives.
• Communicate the value of Carry1st’s products, adapt messaging to diverse customer needs, and validate buyer use‑cases through active conversations.
• Negotiate terms, overcome objections, and achieve or exceed revenue targets.
• Maintain a robust pipeline using CRM tools, forecast outcomes, and ensure accurate tracking.
• Transition clients post‑close to the Implementation team while preserving a commercial relationship for renewals and expansion.
• Collaborate with Product and Implementation teams to share market insights and help shape deployable solutions.

Required profile

• Proven ability to own the full sales cycle from prospecting to close.
• Experience building and executing target‑account plans for consumer‑facing enterprises.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with senior executives.
• Excellent negotiation and closing capabilities.
• Data‑driven approach to pipeline management and forecasting.
