Director of Operations – Hotel Executive Committee

About the role

The Director of Operations joins the Hotel Executive Committee and reports directly to the General Manager. This senior leader provides strategic and hands‑on direction across all operational areas to ensure exceptional guest experiences and strong business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the General Manager to execute the hotel’s business strategy.
• Lead Rooms, Food & Beverage, Culinary, Engineering, Security and other operational functions.
• Drive guest satisfaction, service excellence and effective service recovery.
• Oversee operational standards, productivity and profitability for Rooms and F&B.
• Manage revenue, cost control and resource optimisation in collaboration with Finance.
• Coach and develop the operational leadership team, fostering a high‑performing culture.
• Ensure compliance with IHG brand standards, food safety, health & safety, security and regulatory requirements.
• Lead cross‑functional projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of progressive hotel operations experience, preferably in an international full‑service hotel.
• Previous senior operational leadership role such as Director of Operations, Hotel Manager or Executive Assistant Manager.
• Strong experience across Rooms and Food & Beverage, with knowledge of Culinary/Kitchen operations.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale hotel operations and multiple departments.
• Commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, labour management and departmental P&L.
• Demonstrated success in driving guest satisfaction, operational standards and business results.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
