Engineering Specialist (Sputter Maintenance)

About the role

The Engineering Specialist (Sputter Maintenance) will support the sputtering line in Seagate’s magnetic media plant. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, product conversion, and troubleshooting of both electrical and mechanical aspects of the sputtering equipment, while collaborating with engineering teams to improve reliability and reduce defects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and product conversion on sputtering tools.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical equipment issues, including chronic problems.
• Work with equipment and process engineers to drive continuous improvement in tool reliability, OEE and defect reduction.
• Lead safety, cost‑saving and productivity improvement projects.
• Apply data analytics and machine learning techniques for advanced troubleshooting.
• Acquire and apply vacuum technology fundamentals and support ongoing learning.
