Engineering Specialist (Sputter Maintenance)

About the role

Join a dynamic team responsible for the heart of the media process – sputtering – in a world‑class magnetic media manufacturing environment. You will ensure the sputtering tools operate reliably, support product conversion, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and product conversion on sputtering equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, and follow up on chronic machine problems.
• Collaborate with equipment and process engineers to improve tool reliability, reduce defects and boost OEE.
• Lead safety, cost‑saving and productivity improvement projects.
• Utilise data analytics and machine‑learning tools for advanced troubleshooting.
• Develop expertise in vacuum technology and stay current with industry innovations.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated with a positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work in a clean‑room environment and on a 12‑hour shift pattern.
• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent ITE qualification.
