Head Sommelier

About the role

The Head Sommelier will lead the wine programme at 1887 by André, a heritage restaurant inside Raffles Hotel Singapore. You will be responsible for delivering a friendly, efficient wine service that enhances the guest dining experience and reflects the restaurant’s historic elegance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide wine recommendations, take orders and serve wine promptly and professionally.
• Upsell wine by the glass and bottle, offer aperitifs and after‑meal wine service.
• Greet guests courteously, use guest names when appropriate and tailor service to special requests.
• Apply the Heartist® approach to make guests feel welcome, valued and memorable.
• Collect guest feedback, handle complaints swiftly and build a loyal guest database.
• Lead and train the service and culinary teams to ensure consistent delivery of Forbes, MOQ and LQA standards.
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion for guests, team members and the operation.
