Lead Staff Engineer – Diffusion & Implant

About the role

Micron Technology is seeking a senior engineering leader to drive diffusion and implant process development for its 3D NAND portfolio. The role combines technical leadership, team building, and cross‑functional collaboration to deliver high‑performance, manufacturable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, hire, mentor, and develop a team of diffusion and implant engineers.
• Own end‑to‑end process module development, including cell design, characterization, integration, and margin improvement.
• Drive execution of process development aligned with technology roadmaps and ensure timely delivery.
• Collaborate with Process Integration, Manufacturing Development, Equipment Engineering, and global teams.
• Transfer processes to high‑volume manufacturing, support pilot ramp‑up, yield improvement, and long‑term stability.
• Conduct DOE‑based experiments and apply data‑driven methods to optimize performance and cost.
• Implement advanced monitoring, control strategies, and AI/ML techniques for predictive modeling.
• Partner with equipment and material suppliers on technology evaluation and consumable qualification.
• Promote safety, IP protection, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large engineering teams in semiconductor process development.
• Strong track record delivering scalable, high‑volume manufacturing solutions.
• Excellent collaboration skills across multi‑functional global teams.
