Lecturer - Culinary Skills

About the role

The Lecturer – Culinary Skills will join ITE College West to deliver specialised culinary education and support students in developing lifelong learning habits. You will combine classroom teaching with industry‑linked projects to keep the curriculum current and relevant.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver lectures, workshops and practical sessions covering Asian and Western cuisines.
• Lead industry or consultancy projects that enhance students’ exposure to real‑world culinary trends.
• Maintain strong partnerships with food‑service businesses, hotels and schools to secure attachments and guest‑speaker opportunities.
• Participate in culinary competitions and promote the college’s achievements.
• Mentor and supervise student teams, providing feedback on recipe development and kitchen practices.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of professional experience in Asian or Western cuisine.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and supervise students in a college environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Track record of recipe formulation, development and modern kitchen practices.
• Willingness to engage in continuous professional development and industry attachments.

Required skills

• Asian culinary kitchen practices, including use of local herbs and spices.
• Western culinary techniques (French, Italian, Nordic, Spanish).
• Food recipe formulation and development.
• Operation of modern kitchen equipment.
• Experience with digitalisation or modernisation of kitchen workflows.
