Maintenance Engineer (Field Technical Support)

About the role

Amgen is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to provide field‑facing technical support, troubleshooting, and mechanical maintenance oversight for plant utilities and equipment within a GMP manufacturing environment. The role bridges front‑line craft leadership and senior technical expertise, ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable maintenance execution.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site technical oversight for utilities and mechanical maintenance, including equipment walkdowns, live troubleshooting, and work execution support.
• Drive maintenance improvement activities by prioritising field issues, following up on preventive maintenance (PM) execution, and verifying job completion quality.
• Collaborate with System Owners, Technicians, Planning & Scheduling, Manufacturing, Quality, EHS, contractors and vendors to resolve equipment issues and strengthen job plans.
• Investigate recurring failures, improve equipment reliability, and update PM tasks based on real‑world feedback.
• Coordinate contractors at the job site and ensure all activities are performed safely and in compliance with GMP standards.
• May require rotating day shifts.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering experience in mechanical maintenance within a GMP or regulated manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical equipment at the field level.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams, contractors and vendors.
• Commitment to safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
