Mechanical Engineer – Singapore

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Singapore team. You will apply a strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and materials science to solve complex mechanical problems, design custom tooling, and support the full product life‑cycle of advanced semiconductor equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve difficult mechanical issues with limited supervision.
• Develop, design, and modify mechanical layouts, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
• Define, coordinate, perform, and document engineering test reports.
• Lead or execute projects, develop key suppliers, and generate mechanical product specifications.
• Design and implement custom tooling, fixturing, and associated processes for handling, assembly, and disassembly of components.
• Establish standards across operational processes and review engineering documentation.
• Communicate complex technical information clearly and build consensus among stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 4–7 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Proven ability to work independently on challenging technical scopes.
