Production Planner

About the role

Merit Medical is seeking a Production Planner to manage the planning of finished goods and sub‑assemblies for its distribution centers. The role focuses on balancing demand and supply, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring timely order fulfillment.

Key responsibilities

• Process finished‑goods and sub‑assembly orders using the Oracle system via the ASCP workbench.
• Schedule production of finished goods and sub‑assemblies according to the Master Schedule Plan to meet customer demand.
• Manage internal order requisitions from distribution centers on a weekly basis.
• Optimize distribution‑center stock levels by assessing regional supply, demand, and forecasts.
• Collaborate with Customer Service on order fluctuations and unforecasted demand.
• Support S&OP activities with planning assistants and the planning section leader.
• Allocate finished goods to regions in Oracle after sterilization loads are released.
• Conduct monthly reviews of stock levels, handle expirations, and raise scrap as needed.
• Prepare KPI dashboards (e.g., backorder, inventory reports) for management review.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies.

Required profile

• Experience in production planning or supply‑chain scheduling, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical abilities to balance demand and supply at both aggregate and detailed levels.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams such as Customer Service, Planning, and Operations.
