Project Engineer – ACMV Design & Build

About the role

The ACMV Project Engineer supports engineering, technical coordination, design calculations and project execution for air‑conditioning and mechanical ventilation (ACMV) projects on construction sites. You will work closely with the Project Manager and site teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, executing and completing ACMV projects.
• Perform ACMV engineering calculations such as heat‑load, pump sizing, airflow rates, chilled‑water system performance, chiller sizing, duct and fan sizing.
• Review specifications, technical drawings and engineering requirements.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers and authorities on technical matters.
• Prepare and review shop drawings, method statements and material approvals.
• Supervise on‑site ACMV installation to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Attend inspections, testing and commissioning to verify system performance.
• Monitor site progress, resolve technical issues and track project costs against budgets.
• Assist in progress claims, variation orders, project reports, as‑built drawings and handover documentation.
• Ensure adherence to Workplace Safety and Health policies.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in ACMV design‑build projects within the construction industry.
• Proven ability to manage project timelines, budgets and resources.
• Strong communication, coordination and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced construction environment.
