Project Engineer II

About the role

Honeywell is seeking a Project Engineer II to lead engineering projects focused on gas detection and fire‑gas systems. You will be responsible for delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret blueprints for gas detection layouts, confirming correct sensor placement for toxic, flammable, or oxygen‑depleting gases.
• Supervise field installation, wiring, and integration of gas detectors, control panels, and alarm systems.
• Lead startup, functional testing, and calibration of specialized gas sensing equipment.
• Verify that all work complies with contract requirements, environmental rules, and industrial safety standards such as OSHA, IECEx, and ATEX.
• Troubleshoot complex issues with detectors, false alarms, control systems, or communication bus protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus) on site.
• Manage technical submittals, factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and operations manuals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project coordination within gas detection, fire‑and‑gas (F&G) systems, or industrial automation.
• Strong understanding of electrochemical, catalytic bead, infrared, and photo‑ionization detector (PID) technologies.
• Ability to work onsite, supervise installations, and ensure safety compliance.
