PVD Equipment Engineer

About the role

Qualcomm is seeking a PVD Equipment Engineer to support its manufacturing operations in Singapore. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving vacuum PVD equipment to ensure high uptime and yield.

Key responsibilities

• Perform systematic equipment troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Oversee de‑commissioning, installation, upgrades, retrofits and routine maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
• Monitor equipment uptime and implement reliability improvement actions.
• Train line technicians on equipment operation and critical knowledge.
• Manage spare‑part cost, availability and procurement.
• Collaborate with process engineers on yield‑related issues and implement containment actions.
• Work with external vendors for equipment support, spare‑part sourcing and upgrades.
• Lead or participate in projects targeting downtime reduction, cost savings, yield improvement or new material qualification.
• Define maintenance procedures and documentation for smooth equipment operation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field with 2+ years of hardware engineering experience.
• Master's degree with 1+ year of relevant experience or PhD with relevant experience is also acceptable.
• Hands‑on experience with vacuum PVD equipment.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work in a dynamic team.
