Quantity Surveyor

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor will oversee the commercial and cost management of projects from tendering and procurement through to final delivery. Working across facilities management, maintenance, engineering and addition & alteration projects, the role ensures accurate cost estimates, effective cost control and timely progress claims.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare competitive tender submissions, cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and commercial proposals.
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and contract requirements.
• Source, evaluate and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Analyse contractors’ quotations and Schedule of Rates to ensure competitive pricing.
• Conduct cost analysis, value engineering and risk assessments.
• Maintain tender documentation, cost databases and pricing records.
• Monitor project costs, variations, progress claims and final accounts.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in tendering, estimating or commercial quantity surveying, preferably within facilities management, engineering, maintenance or construction.
• Strong knowledge of tendering, cost estimation, procurement, contract administration and Schedule of Rates pricing.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with estimating or quantity surveying software.
