R&D Engineer - Product Design

About the role

We are looking for an R&D Engineer to lead product design and development of precision plastic components. You will work on engineering‑plastic performance, material behavior and bring concepts from CAD to functional prototypes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead product design and development activities focused on engineering plastics.
• Manage product qualification, certification and compliance with industry standards.
• Create 3D product designs, proof‑of‑concept models and detailed engineering drawings with GD&T and tolerance stack‑up.
• Design, build and evaluate prototypes using additive manufacturing and other prototyping methods.
• Perform hands‑on 3D CAD modeling and CAE simulations for validation and optimisation.
• Conduct functional testing to verify performance, reliability and quality.
• Apply Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to improve manufacturability and cost efficiency.
• Define test requirements, perform patent searches and drive projects with tight timelines.
• Adhere to plant safety, food safety, sanitation and GMP guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with 3D product design processes and creation of proof‑of‑concept models.
• Experience in 3D prototyping using additive manufacturing or other methods.
• Knowledge of plastic injection molding processes.
