Resident Engineer – Mixed Development Projects

About the role

The Resident Engineer will lead the supervision of civil and structural works for mixed‑use developments, ensuring compliance with project specifications, drawings and the Building Control Act. You will coordinate a team of Resident Technical Officers and act as the main liaison with the client, consultant and contractor.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise civil and building structural works, demolition, top‑down construction and deep‑excavation activities.
• Manage Resident Technical Officers across architecture, structure, M&E and landscape disciplines.
• Validate overtime requisitions, oversee temporary works and maintain accurate records.
• Monitor construction schedules, enforce safety standards and attend project meetings.
• Inspect and approve material sample tests, overseas fabrication, façade, waterproofing and specialist steel items.
• Identify defects, issue instructions to the main contractor and prepare defect lists.
• Report progress to the architect, engineer and Owner’s Project Manager.
• Collaborate with the QA/QC engineer to ensure workmanship quality.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognised university.
• Registered with IES‑ACES Joint Accreditation Committee (JAC) as Resident Engineer.
• Minimum 12 years of experience on mixed‑development projects (Grade A office, retail, museum, theatre).
• Proven experience in demolition, top‑down construction, deep excavation, ERSS (CBP/SBP walls), steel structures and post‑tensioned beams.
• Strong knowledge of façade, waterproofing and architectural‑ID inspections.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
