Room Service Captain

About the role

The Room Service Captain leads the room service team at our Marina Bay hotel, ensuring seamless delivery of food and beverage services to guests. This role combines operational oversight with hands‑on service to maintain high standards of hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate room service staff to provide prompt, courteous service.
• Inspect staff grooming, attire and work areas, correcting any deficiencies.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including setup of supplies, equipment cleaning, and securing the venue.
• Maintain organized storage areas using FIFO principles and conduct regular inventories.
• Monitor dining areas for seating availability, safety, and guest wellbeing.
• Complete work orders for maintenance and ensure timely repairs.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Uphold company safety, security and quality policies, reporting incidents as required.
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, and provide assistance to individuals with disabilities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of room service or related hospitality experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a hotel or food‑and‑beverage environment.
• Ability to work standing, walking or sitting for extended periods and lift up to 50 lb.
• Strong communication skills and professional appearance.
