SEA Finance Controller

About the role

Fugro is hiring a SEA Finance Controller based in Singapore. The role covers country controllership and financial governance across Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia and Vietnam, reporting to the Regional Head of Finance, APAC. It works closely with country management and the Marine and Land business lines to ensure accurate closing, reporting, strong internal controls and compliance with group accounting policies and local statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead country controllership across SEA legal entities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, Fugro's accounting policies, the Fugro Internal Control System and local laws.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing and legal entity reporting, reviewing results, accounting judgements, provisions and estimates.
• Review reconciliations, intercompany balances, asset recoverability and liabilities, and resolve aged or unsupported items.
• Monitor internal control effectiveness and delegated authority compliance, and remediate control deficiencies and audit findings.
• Lead and develop the local SEA Finance team, setting clear responsibilities, coverage and standards.
• Prepare and review statutory financial statements, coordinate external audits and resolve technical accounting matters with Group Finance and external auditors.
• Work with the SEA Tax Manager on tax compliance, filings and transfer pricing.
• Partner with Business Finance and country teams on revenue recognition, project accounting, work in progress, receivables and provisions, and support billing, collection and working capital.
• Coordinate with Group and Regional Finance, Treasury, Company Secretaries, auditors, bankers, legal advisers and tax authorities.
• Advise General Managers and escalate material risks to the Regional Head of Finance, APAC, and take part in ad hoc projects.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor's degree in accountancy, a related discipline or ACCA qualification.
• At least 8 years of relevant finance experience, including multi-country controllership, statutory reporting and internal controls, with at least 3 years of leadership experience.
• Audit experience and people management experience are advantages.
• Excellent English; fluency in other languages is an advantage.
• Ability to start within a short notice period is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IFS ERP is an advantage.
