Senior Cloud Engineer (Data & AI Platform)

About the role

DBS Group Technology is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer (Data & AI Platform) to lead the design, engineering, reliability and operational excellence of enterprise-scale data, analytics and agentic AI platforms running on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role works with architects, data engineers, data scientists and platform teams to deliver scalable, secure and resilient cloud solutions, and provides technical leadership and escalates complex production issues.

Key responsibilities

• Design and support infrastructure for enterprise agentic frameworks and AI agent deployment patterns
• Design, implement and operate scalable data and analytics platforms on GCP for large-scale workloads
• Analyse business and technical requirements and turn them into secure, resilient, cost-efficient designs
• Lead technical design discussions, architecture reviews and engineering governance
• Build cloud infrastructure for AI/ML and Generative AI workloads and support enterprise adoption of AI platforms and model serving
• Apply cloud-native practices: Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automated testing and DevSecOps
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and act as L3 escalation point for major incidents, driving root cause analysis
• Improve observability, monitoring and reliability through SRE principles and automation
• Optimise performance, scalability and cost across BigQuery, Dataproc, Spark and related services
• Mentor junior engineers, review designs and code, and adopt emerging cloud technologies

Required profile

• 10+ years of infrastructure, platform or cloud engineering experience, with at least 5 years on GCP
• Experience architecting and supporting production workloads in hybrid cloud environments
• Experience leading root cause analysis, problem management and operational improvement
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure monitoring, observability, log analysis and incident response
• Ability to implement workload-level security controls in GCP
• Stakeholder management, communication and technical leadership skills; Agile delivery experience

Required skills

• Deep expertise in BigQuery, Dataproc, Cloud Storage and cloud-native data platforms
• Kubernetes, Docker and containerised workloads in production
• Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Spark and schema formats such as Avro and Parquet
• Nice to have: Google Professional Cloud Architect, Cloud DevOps Engineer or Data Engineer certifications; Python and/or Java; Kafka, OpenTelemetry, Grafana or Prometheus; PostgreSQL and MySQL; regulated or financial-services environment experience
