Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of complex electro‑mechanical products from concept through to production launch. The role involves creating reliable, manufacturable mechanisms and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to bring products to market.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical mechanisms, modules and electro‑mechanical assemblies.
• Own product development from concept, prototyping and validation through production launch.
• Perform engineering calculations such as motor sizing, torque, gear ratio and tolerance analysis.
• Develop and optimise gears, cams, linkages, motors and power‑transmission systems.
• Apply GD&T, DFM/DFA and FEA to ensure robust, manufacturable designs.
• Design components for machining, sheet metal, plastics, die‑casting and other processes.
• Troubleshoot design and production issues and drive continuous product improvements.
• Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, Firmware, Software, suppliers and other teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong hands‑on experience in mechanical and mechanism design.
• Proven track record taking products from concept through to production.
• Ability to work independently and lead technical decisions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, Inventor).
• Good knowledge of GD&T and engineering analysis.
• Experience with motors, motion systems and related calculations.
• Familiarity with DFM/DFA, DFMEA and FEA.
