Senior Specialist, Risk Data Governance & Quality

About the role

The Risk Data Quality Senior plays a central role in implementing and maintaining data quality and data governance frameworks for risk-related data. The role focuses on the operational execution and hands-on management of these activities, supporting the Data Steward and ensuring adherence to frameworks such as BCBS239. It is based in DBS Asia Central.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, assign criticality and prioritise data quality issues, and perform profiling, analysis and validation to find root causes and impacts
• Develop, implement and maintain data quality rules, checks and dashboards, and oversee remediation with data owners, source system teams and tech
• Support the data stewardship program, train Risk Unit Data Champions and maintain metadata repositories, business glossaries and data catalogs
• Monitor adherence to data governance policies and report on compliance
• Design data quality monitoring frameworks, define and track data quality indicators, and prepare regular reports and presentations for management
• Manage the yearly BCBS239 attestation with report owners
• Collaborate with RMG users and tech teams, act as the main point of contact for data quality queries, and run problem-solving sessions
• Use and optimise data profiling, cleansing and metadata tools, and recommend process standardisation and automation

Required profile

• Deep understanding of the bank's ecosystem, source systems, data landscape, operational processes and banking products
• Proven experience in data issue management and data profiling
• Ability to work with minimal oversight and independently drive cross-functional initiatives
• Strong communication skills and ability to present complex data issues clearly
