SVP, Site Reliability Engineering Lead (SRE & Governance)

About the role

The SVP, Site Reliability Engineering Lead leads and oversees the 24/7 infrastructure operations and reliability engineering function across critical platforms such as Hypervisors (VPC, EPC, OPC), OpenShift, Windows, databases, TWS and Mainframe environments. The role drives resilience, scalability, automation and operational excellence across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments, in line with business, risk and regulatory expectations. It is based at DBS Asia Hub.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a distributed 24/7 SRE infrastructure team, including shift-based operations and command center functions, and define the SRE strategy aligned to enterprise priorities.
• Establish governance across incident, problem, change, release and capacity management, and drive SLA/SLO/SLI frameworks.
• Own end-to-end reliability of cloud and container platforms (VPC, OpenShift, Kubernetes), compute and virtualization (hypervisors, private cloud), and enterprise platforms (Windows, Unix/Linux, TWS, Mainframe, databases).
• Drive observability (monitoring, logging, tracing), reduce MTTR and incident volume, and scale automation across deployment, patching and incident resolution.
• Ensure robust 24/7 monitoring, incident response and recovery, lead major incident management, run root cause analyses and embed ITIL best practices.
• Identify infrastructure risks, ensure compliance with regulatory, audit and security requirements, and partner with security teams on hardening and vulnerability management.
• Collaborate with application, DevOps, security, architecture and business teams, lead large-scale transformation programs, and act as a key interface with senior management and external stakeholders.
• Build and develop the SRE organization across L1/L2/L3 layers, promote cross-skilling and mentor senior leaders.

Required profile

• 18+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, SRE or production operations.
• Proven leadership of large-scale 24/7 infrastructure teams in banking/financial services.
• Strong experience in hybrid cloud, data center and enterprise platforms.
• Strong strategic thinking, incident leadership, automation drive, stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
