Account Manager – Specialty Coffee (Singapore)

About the role

Mercanta, a leading importer of specialty green coffee, is seeking an Account Manager to manage and grow its roaster portfolio across Asia from its Singapore office. The role combines sales, quality control, and logistics coordination to deliver high‑quality coffee solutions to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Day‑to‑day portfolio management of existing roaster accounts.
• Develop new roaster accounts across the Asian market.
• Conduct quality control of offers, pre‑shipment, and arrival samples (cupping).
• Assist with demand planning and sourcing activities.
• Support the logistics team in order execution.
• Perform client visits, coordinate events and tasting sessions.
• Undertake origin visits as required by the business.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum 3 years of client‑facing sales experience in commodities.
• Strong interest in coffee and sustainable supply chains.
• Resilient, proactive and determined to succeed in a competitive environment.
• Team player willing to support colleagues beyond the job description.
• Willingness to travel and represent the company at trade shows.
• Excellent communication, decision‑making, problem‑solving and negotiation abilities.
• Well‑organized, intuitive and self‑motivated.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with SAP By Design (preferred).
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Mandarin language skills are an asset.
