Accountant – 1 Year Contract

About the role

This 1‑year contract position reports to the Finance Manager/Financial Controller and focuses on month‑end closing, consolidation, financial reporting and audit support. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to strengthen controls and enhance finance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records in line with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Perform month‑end closing, ledger reconciliations and consolidation for timely group and statutory reporting.
• Prepare accounting schedules, analytical reviews and monthly/quarterly reporting packages.
• Support the preparation of annual financial statements and audit deliverables.
• Identify and implement improvements to finance processes, internal controls and reporting quality.
• Assist with finance‑system enhancements, automation initiatives and business intelligence tools.
• Partner with finance colleagues and business stakeholders to resolve accounting matters.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in accounting, audit or financial reporting.
• Hands‑on experience with month‑end closing, reconciliations and audit support.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and ability to apply appropriate treatments.
• Experience in commodity trading or mark‑to‑market accounting is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
