Actuarial Product Owner, AI Pricing

About the role

A leading technology innovator building an AI-powered Product Factory for insurers is seeking an experienced Actuarial Product Owner, AI Pricing. The role leads the vision and delivery of an AI pricing platform that supports actuaries from product design and assumption validation through model execution, scenario testing and documentation. It suits a senior life insurance actuary combining pricing expertise with a passion for AI and product innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Own the product strategy, roadmap and delivery of the AI Pricing platform, translating actuarial pricing workflows into user stories, requirements and acceptance criteria
• Prioritise features and manage the product backlog, balancing client needs, scalability and risk management
• Set testing frameworks, validation standards and performance benchmarks, and assess readiness for production release
• Provide subject matter expertise on life insurance pricing models and support onboarding of new pricing models and products
• Coordinate actuarial, engineering, AI, architecture, testing and client teams, managing dependencies and risks
• Present product progress and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and produce requirements, release notes and decision papers
• Ensure AI outputs are transparent, traceable and auditable, and support actuarial governance, model risk management and regulatory requirements

Required profile

• Qualified or nearly qualified Actuary (FSA, FIA, FIAA or equivalent)
• 10+ years of experience in life insurance actuarial functions, pricing, modelling or actuarial technology
• Strong hands-on experience with life insurance pricing models and actuarial software
• Deep understanding of product pricing, profit testing, reserving, capital and RBC frameworks, IFRS 17 and regulatory filing processes
• Proven experience working with technology, modelling or software development teams
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership, with excellent written and verbal communication
• Experience using AI and LLM-based tools, with a practical understanding of their strengths, limitations, validation and governance

Required skills

• Life insurance pricing models and actuarial software
• Desirable: Prophet (FIS), Moody's AXIS, MG-ALFA, RiskAgility, other actuarial platforms
• Desirable: Product Management or Product Owner experience, exposure to transformation initiatives, experience with Asian life insurers, knowledge of participating, unit-linked, universal or investment-linked products
• Desirable: basic Python or SQL
