AI Researcher – Foundation Models & Deep Learning

About the role

Microsoft Research Asia is expanding its research team in Singapore and is looking for an AI Researcher to drive innovations in foundation models, deep learning, and reinforcement learning. The role focuses on advancing the state‑of‑the‑art in computer science and engineering through independent and collaborative research.

Key responsibilities

• Define and pursue research problems in AI, machine learning, computer vision, and multimodal systems.
• Design, develop, and execute research agendas, producing algorithms, prototypes, and scientific publications.
• Collaborate with product and business groups to transfer technology, file patents, and author white papers.
• Develop internal tools and services that showcase research outcomes.
• Bridge the gap between research and engineering teams to bring new approaches into production.

Required profile

• Strong research background with a track record of publications in top conferences or journals.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment and collaborate across interdisciplinary teams.
• Excellent programming abilities and experience in academic research.
