Android Software Engineer (AI Apps)

About the role

ActAI is building proactive, AI‑native applications that simplify everyday tasks. As an Android Software Engineer you will own the mobile client experience, ensuring AI interactions feel natural, reliable, and performant on Android devices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production‑grade Android applications using Kotlin.
• Integrate AI‑powered features such as chat, vision, voice, and recommendation APIs.
• Create UX patterns for streaming responses, retries, and partial results.
• Optimize memory usage, latency, and CPU consumption for AI‑heavy flows.
• Implement analytics, logging, and feedback mechanisms to support continuous AI evaluation.
• Collaborate with backend and machine‑learning engineers on API contracts and system behavior.
• Ensure app stability, security, and scalability in production environments.

Required profile

• 3+ years of Android development experience with Kotlin.
• Hands‑on experience integrating LLM, vision, or speech APIs.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming (Coroutines, Flow).
• Familiarity with REST or gRPC APIs and structured data formats.
• Proven debugging and performance‑profiling skills.
• Comfort working with latency, partial failures, and non‑deterministic behavior.
• Experience with MLKit or on‑device inference (e.g., TensorFlow Lite).
• Published Android applications on Google Play Store.
