About the role
DBS is hiring an Application Support Engineer for its Institutional Banking Group Technology within the Group Technology function, based at the DBS Asia Hub. The role provides 24x7 IT operational support to production support teams, including weekends and holidays, and requires readiness to work in rotation shifts.
Key responsibilities
- Handle incident management and reporting, acting as recovery coordinator and escalation point for support staff and management
- Monitor and recover batch jobs, perform health checks and manage alerts
- Review daily activities, ensure shift duties are completed and handovers are proper
- Coordinate DR testing and consolidate management reports for presentation
- Implement continuous improvements using automation tools and SRE principles, and follow up on resolutions
- Mentor new staff and lead formal and informal Post Event Problem Reviews (PEPRs)
- Keep stakeholders informed on application issues and manage business/operations communication during critical incidents
